The Garden is Planted!

Wow! We have been busy these last few weeks! Between raising two kiddos, working full time, assisting my husband with his business, and getting the garden planted we’ve barely had time to eat and sleep! But I have to admit I enjoy being busy. I find a great deal of pleasure in being productive and getting things done. That said, I could really use a nap :)

One goal I had this year was to expand the garden and plant even more fruits and veggies as part of our overall goal of becoming more self-sufficient. Here is what we have planted on the property:

  1. Apples – Arkansas Black
  2. Apples – Honeycrisp
  3. Mulberries
  4. Black Raspberries
  5. Red Raspberries
  6. Blackberries
  7. Kiwis
  8. Yellow Bell Peppers
  9. Red Bell Peppers
  10. Jalapenos
  11. Cayenne Peppers
  12. Habanero Peppers
  13. Banana Peppers
  14. Cucumbers
  15. Tomatoes - 5 varieties including Early Girl, Roma, Cherry, Yellow and Purple!
  16. Lettuce
  17. Kale
  18. Spinach
  19. Summer Squash
  20. Strawberries
  21. Swiss Chard
  22. Garlic
  23. Zucchini
  24. Basil
  25. Thyme
  26. Sage
  27. Chives
  28. Rosemary
  29. Lavender

I guess I didn’t realize just how much we had planted until I wrote it out in list form! Wow! I’m looking forward to harvest time! I’ll be sure to post photos in an upcoming post.
